boston adventures: fenway

I mentioned in my last post that we took a tour of Fenway. So here's my post about all-things-Red-Sox. I won't claim to be a diehard Red Sox fan (or a diehard baseball fan of any kind for that matter), but I am married to a faithful follower. So a tour of Fenway was a must, plus it's rich in history!

I love these blue bench seats! They are the only original and wooden seats remaining in the park.
Retired numbers. The "42" is for Jackie Robinson. (By the way, if you haven't seen the movie, "42" go watch it right now!)
A view of the Green Monster. That scoreboard (displaying the National and American leagues) you see at the bottom of the wall is still operated by hand during each game!
The view from the Green Monster seats -- some of the most coveted seats in baseball!

After a stroll around Cambridge we came back to Fenway for a game. And even though there were stormy skies, and it had started to rain, the atmosphere was incredible! We were all crossing our fingers that the game would go on.

My first Fenway Frank!
Unfortunately the game was rained out (We were ready for a torrential downpour! Ponchos, umbrellas, and all!) and they postponed the game. So I still have yet to see the Sox play, which just means we have to go back, right Danny?!
