As Spring term comes to a close, I think of all the wonderful things I'm excited for once I am released from Academia ...
1) CALIFORNIA. I'm going to California in a couple weeks ... does this need any other explanation?
2) Reading. For FUN. Reading, without looking to see how many pages I have left. Reading, that doesn't also function as a sleep-inducer. Reading, that doesn't have a comprehension quiz after I'm finished. Reading, that reminds me of I why I love to read.
3) Work ending when I punch the time clock. In many jobs, you are done working once you walk out that door. However, as a student, work doesn't end until you go to sleep. (And even still, your brain might work overtime trying to make some sense of all you learned that day.) Along with this - not worrying about homework I have due the next day.
4) Guilt-free movie watching. I can watch a movie (or any other type of leisure activity) without thinking, "Maybe I should be studying instead."
5) Waking up when I think it's a good time to wake up. Bye-bye alarm clock.
However, there are a few things I will miss.
1) My courses. I had three great teachers! They were some of the most helpful and accomodating teachers I've had at BYU. Thank you!
2) The quieter campus. I love being able to find a comfortable spot in the buildings where I can study quietly for a few hours. Definitely a bonus of Spring Term.
3) Normally, I would say nice weather. However, the weather has been kind of bi-polar. But today it was beautiful. So today, I'll miss having beautiful warm weather.
That's all. :)
