This past month Danny and I celebrated our FIFTH wedding anniversary. Sometimes it feels as though all the wedding festivities were not that long ago and, at other times, I feel like Danny and I have been kindred spirits for a very long time.
Anyone that gets to know Danny will learn that he has a kind and loving heart, a brilliant mind, a relentless sense of adventure, and the will and determination to accomplish anything he sets his mind to. Most importantly, he is a man of faith and loves the Lord.
What you may not know (unless you follow me on Snapchat) is that he loves to belt showtunes at the top of his lungs, abbreviate and hashtag all the words, and can do impressions like nobody's business -- just ask for his Gordon Ramsay next time you see him. ;)
Anyway, I'm just really grateful for this guy and feel so lucky to call him mine.
In celebration of these past five years, we spent the weekend in the mountains. We had dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, The Blue Boar Inn, in Midway, hiked, swam, and enjoyed some much needed spa time.
"I go to nature to be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put in order." - John Burroughs
I put together this video from our hike. I've been waiting for the right video to use this song, as it is my absolute favorite, and this one seemed like the perfect fit.
Happy five years, Danny! I love you!
(PS: I loved this picture I found in our hotel room. It reminds me of the opening sequence of Turn, which, if you have talked with me at all in the last year, you'll know it's my favorite show.)
