Remember how we had class pets in elementary school? One year Allie's class had a baby chick that she got to bring home. I remember thinking it was the most darling little creature. I'm not sure what sparked this memory, but the thought of the baby chick playing, swimming in a kiddie pool, and running around with three rambunctious sisters sure makes me laugh & feel nostalgic for simpler times.

20 years ago today ...

President Ronald Reagan uttered those famous words: "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!"

We celebrated the "Mauerfall" in German class by "tearing down" and eating a rice crispy treat wall.  And it tasted delicious - literally and figuratively. From here in America, to all those in Germany (as well as all who were so greatly affected by it), happy 20th anniversary of the Mauerfall!!
